Conifer Tree Seedling Sale

The Panhandle Seedling Program is a reliable source for conifer tree seedlings at a reasonable price for local forest owners and forest managers. Our seeds are properly sourced for the Idaho Panhandle's soils, climate and elevation. We contract with an inspected professional nursery to grow seedlings two years in advance of delivery. All funds received from sales go back into the program ensuring a sustainable program.

The seedling sale season is July - April. Order seedlings anytime during the season and pick up is in early April.

Seedlings are available on a first come first serve basis. Please order as soon as possible to reserve your seedlings!

(Look for the "Home of the Idaho State Forestry Contest" sign.)

All customers will be reminded a couple weeks before pick up date via email of date, time and location for pick up.

Western Red Cedar- It can reach up to 60 meters in height and 2.5 meters in diameter. Can grow in soils with a low moisture and nutrient content. Seedlings sold in minimums of 15. Box contains 270 seedlings.

Engelmann spruce- These are a landscaping favorite for use in sound, sight, and wind barriers as well as for their beauty! Average 30 inches in diameter and 90 feet in height. Grows slowly, reaching mature size in about 150 years. Seedlings sold in minimums of 15. Boxes contain 270 seedlings.

Ponderosa pine - Ponderosa pine is a rapidly growing tree which grows to a height of 55'- 140'. This tree is drought tolerant and can be grown in hot dry sites. It will grow in a variety of soils and its roots will grow in cracks in rocks allowing it to grow on very rocky sites. Seedlings sold in minimums of 15. Boxes contain 270 seedlings.
